Week 15 – RB Rankings

There’s only so many things we can continue to say about the play of Le’Veon Bell. He’s obviously the best in the game at his position right now, maybe overall. Since the first game of the season, he has not scored under 13.1 fantasy points in any game; he’s scored over 20 seven times, and over 30 two times. It’s safe to say if you drafted Bell #1/2 overall in your draft, you’ve been rewarded this season. He’s #3 in all fantasy scoring in standard ESPN leagues behind teammate Antonio Brown and Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. I’m sure when the season is all said and done and fantasy sites do their statistics, Le’Veon Bell will be on a high percentage of championship winning fantasy teams.

When the Eagles made the trade to bring in Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins, I thought Ajayi would catapult into a top 10 fantasy back moving forward. I was wrong. Through 7 games in Miami, Ajayi was on the field for 71.1% of the team’s offensive snaps. In the 5 games with Philadelphia, he’s only been on the field for 32.2% of the snaps. Now, in his defense, his fantasy scoring has not really dipped. He averaged 9.3 FPPG with Miami, and 9.1 FPPG with Philadelphia. But, I’m a firm believer in touches and opportunities. Even though he’s taking more advantage of the fewer opportunities in Philly, I believe the scoring will eventually regress to the mean. Less touches and less opportunities results in less fantasy points.
